The bullish sentiment of Puerto Rican billionaire Orlando Bravo on Bitcoin

Billionaire Orlando Bravo, co-founder and managing partner of private equity firm Thoma Bravo, revealed in an interview with CNBC that he owns bitcoin (BTC) and said he is very optimistic about the future of the cryptocurrency.

Orlando Bravo believes in Bitcoin’s rise in value

The interview took place during CNBC’s Delivering Alpha 2021 event, one of the most prestigious investor conferences that brings together the largest asset managers as well as influential political and economic figures each year for a high-level discussion on critical issues in the global economy.

Bravo believes bitcoin will increase in value in the coming years through institutional adoption and increased usage by people, and taking into account the needs of the younger generation he added:

“How could you not love crypto? Crypto is just a great system. It’s frictionless. It’s decentralized. And young people want their own financial system. So it is here to stay”.

The billionaire investor also spoke about blockchain highlighting that the technology behind it could be far more efficient and powerful than classic data-driven software because of its decentralized nature.

Orlando Bravo’s main rationale behind his bullish sentiment is explained by him clearly and directly:

“For me, it’s pretty simple. More people are going to use it in the future than today, and it’s going to be more established. Institutions are just beginning to go there, and once that happens, I think it will increase significantly over the years. I’m very bullish”.

Thoma Bravo is a private equity firm with a history of more than 40 years, including more than $83 billion in assets under management as of June 2021 and a focus on investing in software and technology companies with a buy-and-build investment strategy.

In July, the firm participated in a Series B funding round for Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX Trading Ltd, owner of cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
