Bitboy Crypto will change face: Ben Armstrong fired for drug abuse

Bitboy Crypto is about to change its face, after announcing that it has fired YouTuber Ben Armstrong. The reason is his drug abuse, which allegedly created financial, emotional, and physical damage to the company.

Bitboy Crypto: company fires Ben Armstrong for drug abuse

Celebrated YouTuber Ben Armstrong will no longer be the face of Bitboy Crypto, as the company has announced to the general public that it has fired him.

“Yesterday, BJ Investment Holdings, the parent company of Hit network, took decisive legal action to remove Ben Armstrong from the company, and specifically from the Bitboy Crypto brand. This difficult decision is the culmination of a protracted effort to help Ben during his relapse into substance abuse and to reconcile the emotional, physical and financial damage he has caused to Hit network employees and the Bitboy Crypto community.”

In essence, the decision to remove Armstrong from the company and the BitBoy Crypto brand was made by BJ Investment Holdings and its parent company, Hit Network, through decisive legal action.

The main reason for the dismissal described in the announcement speaks of Armstrong’s substance abuse, which allegedly caused other physical, emotional, and financial harm to Hit Network employees and the Bitboy Crypto community.

Not only that, the company also reportedly specified that it had long helped him in his relapse, but apparently that was not enough.

BitBoy Crypto: YouTube channel continues without Ben Armstrong

The popular Bitboy Crypto YouTube channel, which currently has 1.45 million subscribers, will therefore continue without the face of Ben Armstrong.

The community may or may not be surprised by this decision. Then again, Armstrong has also been making waves for some time now for not exactly being the model citizen.

And indeed, last 20 April, Armstrong intentionally did not show up in court to answer harassment charges against attorney Adam Moskowitz

Rather, the influencer mocked the authority of federal judge Melissa Damian precisely, tweeting a photo of himself on a beach in the Bahamas

Judge Damian would have issued a warrant for Armstrong’s arrest if he did not show up by 24 April. Despite his absence, the harassment case against Armstrong went forward without him, with the matter being referred to the FBI.

Moskowitz’s lawsuit

In the harassment lawsuit against the former Crypto Bitboy, the plaintiff is Adam Moskowitz, the lawyer who also represents the plaintiffs in the class action against several influencers (including Armstrong) who allegedly promoted fraud through FTX without disclosing compensation.

That class action had also involved Binance and its CEO, Changpeng CZ Zhao, accusing the crypto-exchange of allowing exchanges of crypto assets such as BNB defined as unregistered security (at least according to him).

Not only that, Moskowitz had also accused Binance of paying influencers, through its affiliate program, who acted by promoting these financial products illegally.

In that class action, the plaintiffs sought more than $1 billion in damages

In addition to the class action, Moskowitz had sued only Armstrong for harassment such as “endless phone calls, tweets, and emails,” vulgarity-filled voicemails, and social media posts suggesting threats.
