First Crypto Presidential Forum: the event for the candidates for President of the USA

The crypto topic is getting hotter and hotter, so much so that Stand With Crypto wanted to organize the first event dedicated to the candidates for President of the USA, the First Crypto Presidential Forum.

“We are excited to announce the first Crypto Presidential Forum! Join us in New Hampshire to hear directly from the candidates their positions on crypto policy and a wide range of other topics. Members of the audience will be able to ask questions. Local leaders will also be present and the event will serve as a space to connect with other supporters. Cryptocurrency is a topic of national importance, so #StandWithCrypto on the national stage.”

On the next 11th of December, in New Hampshire, the candidates for the US presidency such as Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Vivek Ramaswamy, will be invited to clarify their policy on cryptocurrencies.

According to what is reported on the event’s website, the topics will not be limited to specific cryptocurrency issues. On the contrary, the forum has been designed to allow candidates to address the crypto and blockchain community on a range of policies before the New Hampshire primaries.

Currently, among the confirmed speakers at the event are Asa Hutchinson, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Dean Phillips.

An event where US Presidential candidates can talk about crypto

Stand With Crypto is a non-profit organization that aims to support clear regulation of cryptocurrencies.

Specifically, it seems that the organization has received over 2 million dollars from more than 80,000 donors. Not only that, Stand With Crypto has mobilized the 52 million crypto holders in the USA to organize and demand a clear regulatory framework that allows industry operators to operate in a friendly environment.

Here is the invitation to American crypto users on X:

“If American cryptocurrency users do not speak up, regulatory authorities will speak for them. Whether you are a user of @krakenfx, @coinbase, @Gemini or any other, it is necessary to make your voice heard. Add your name and contact your member of Congress at the address.”

His goal behind the First Crypto Presidential Forum, instead, is to allow candidates to discuss their hypothetical crypto-related policies directly in front of the crypto community.

Joe Biden and crypto regulation

In early November, the current President of the United States, Joe Biden, had announced through his administration that he would be seeking new powers from Congress to help crackdown on the illicit use of cryptocurrencies.

In practice, Biden is increasingly convinced of the need for a new regulation on cryptocurrencies.

Specifically, the issue that has moved the US President concerns the flows of digital assets presumably linked to the Palestinian militant group Hamas, against which the US administration would be powerless.

According to some experts, however, it seems that the issue related to Hamas fundraising is just a pretext to try to obtain greater powers in a general and generic sense, regarding crypto financial flows.

What remains is that the USA still does not have a clear and specific crypto regulation, such as the EU’s MiCA.
