FIFA launches the new NFT Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023 collection.

FIFA launches its own NFT collection ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023, in collaboration with Modex on FIFA+ Collect. There are two launches at stake: the first one of 100 NFTs offers the opportunity to secure tickets for the 2026 World Cup final. 

FIFA NFT: the first two launches of digital collectibles will take place in December 2023

FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) has announced the launch of the new NFT collection in anticipation of the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023.

In practice, for this month of December, two launches of the new FIFA NFT collection are scheduled.

And indeed, on December 15th, the first launch of 100 digital collectibles will take place directly on the FIFA Collect+ platform, managed by Modex. These NFTs contain the rarest collectibles that will offer the opportunity to secure tickets for the FIFA World Cup 26™ final.

The second launch of 900 NFTs issued on the Polygon network, instead, will take place on December 19th, and they will be available on the OpenSea marketplace. At this moment, the FIFA Club World Cup is approaching its climax and this collection will include memorable moments of the tournament and digital versions of memorabilia.

In general, the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 will kick off in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on December 12th and brings together seven of the world’s biggest football teams. Not only that, FIFA announces that the champions of six confederations will participate. 

FIFA NFT and the new collaboration with blockchain company Modex 

For the first NFT collection on FIFA+ Collect, the governing body of international football competitions, FIFA, has embarked on a new collaboration with blockchain company Modex. 

On this matter, Romy Gai, Chief Business Officer of FIFA, stated:

“We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with Modex and take the FIFA+ Collect platform to new levels. Since its launch, the platform has been a huge success worldwide, and fans from all countries now have the opportunity to own a piece of football history. These new releases, both this year and in the coming years, will offer football enthusiasts a unique and innovative way to engage with the sport while contributing to the growth of the digital collectibles market.”

Even Francesco Abbate, CEO of Modex, commented on the partnership:

“We are pleased to have been entrusted with the supply of FIFA digital collectibles. The FIFA Club World Cup promises to be an exciting ten days, and with the release of collectibles that can guarantee real FIFA match items and access to the FIFA World Cup 26 final, there is an additional incentive for fans to participate. Digital collectibles enhance the ways in which fans can interact with their favorite players, teams, and the game they love, and we are honored to support FIFA in achieving this goal. This is the first step in a journey to further engage fans with FIFA matches and initiatives.”

The NFT platform of FIFA+ Collect was launched in September 2022 and is managed by Algorand. 

The news raises the price of crypto MODEX and ALGO

Taking a look at CoinMarketCap, the prices of the two cryptocurrencies MODEX and ALGO have risen by +15% and +10% respectively in the last 24 hours. 

The two pumps are not in line with the price fluctuations of the main cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), therefore one can connect all of this to the news of the new FIFA NFT collection. 

Specifically, MODEX is now worth $0.19 and is up +49% from seven days ago. ALGO, on the other hand, is worth $0.20 and is up 35% from last week. 

Certainly, the two cryptos are not comparable in terms of market cap, as MODEX only has 27.93 million dollars compared to ALGO’s 1.6 billion dollars. 

Even in November 2022, after the drop of the NFT FIFA+ Collect collection by Algorand for the World Cup in Qatar, ALGO had recorded a price pump.
