Veolia ai services eye €1 billion by 2030 as data centers fuel growth

France-based utility group Veolia Environnement SA is sharply expanding veolia ai services as demand from data centers and chipmakers accelerates worldwide.

Veolia targets 1 billion AI-related revenue by 2030

Veolia plans to almost double its revenue from artificial intelligence industries to 1 billion ($1.2 billion) by 2030. The company aims to capture new growth in infrastructure and environmental management as AI adoption drives surging demand for energy, water and resource-efficient solutions.

Currently, Veolia generates 560 million in sales from data center operators and chip manufacturers. However, management expects this figure to rise steadily as the group rolls out new technical services tailored to AI-heavy industries. This outlook was detailed during a presentation in London on Tuesday.

Focus on waste heat, water reuse and recycling for AI supply chain

Chief Executive Officer Estelle Brachlianoff said Veolia will work with data centers to capture wasted heat and feed it into surrounding urban networks or industrial processes. Moreover, the company will support data center heat reuse projects that help limit the environmental footprint of rapidly growing cloud and AI infrastructure.

Another priority will be cooling water reuse systems, allowing AI facilities to cut freshwater consumption while maintaining strict operational reliability. That said, Veolia also sees significant potential in wasted heat recovery solutions for complex industrial sites serving AI and high-performance computing.

Alongside these initiatives, Veolia is expanding electronic waste treatment services and chemical processing for the AI hardware supply chain. In particular, the group intends to help chip plants and equipment makers manage complex effluents, as well as recycle critical materials used in advanced semiconductors.

New services for chipmakers and data centers

Veolia expects demand for ai industry waste treatment to rise as regulators tighten environmental rules and investors scrutinize climate impacts. As a result, the company anticipates that specialized solutions for chipmakers, including chip manufacturer recycling services, will become a key contributor to growth.

For hyperscale cloud providers, Veolia is positioning itself as a long-term partner for resource optimization. However, its strategy remains focused on core environmental expertise, rather than directly supplying computing infrastructure. This approach underscores the group’s ambition to deliver sustainable utility services growth aligned with global climate and digitalization trends.

In summary, Veolia sees a rapidly expanding market around AI-related utilities, with veolia ai services projected to reach 1 billion in annual sales by 2030 as data center and semiconductor ecosystems scale up.
