Cardano ADA, in collaboration with Metaps, is launching prepaid credit cards in South Korea that will allow the use of the cryptocurrency for daily payments.
These are prepaid cards with two face values: 100 and 1000 ADA, that is a counter value between 3 and 30 dollars that could be accepted, thanks to Metaps, in all shops in South Korea that accept credit cards.
The sale of the prepaid cards, possible from November 27th to December 4th, has been an absolute success, so much so that it has been closed early due to shortages.
The issuance of these credit cards, which could be repeated given the success, takes place after the integration of Cardano in the payment app of Metaps already active online, thus allowing the ADA cryptocurrency to become a means of payment widespread in at least 40 thousand points of sale in South Korea.
The minimum value of the cards makes them more a collector’s item rather than a real payment system, but this is due to the unwanted effect of the drop in the value of the tokens in recent weeks. The website also suggests the subsequent issuance of cards with 5000 ADA face value.
The system allows using these crypto-cards in combination with a password for the authorization of the payment.
