Scam website emulates the official Bakkt portal

A few days ago a scam website appeared on the net that emulated the official Bakkt portal.

While the original Bakkt website is a .com, the fraudulent one features the address bakktplatform.io.

Without the correct knowledge of the official domain, it is difficult to understand which of the two is the real one but, investigating the false domain through appropriate services, it can be seen that it was registered on January 31st, 2019: too recent if we compare it to the date of the original which dates back to July 6th, 2018.

The Bakkt scam website has been properly removed, however, it can be retrieved through an online service. It features an entry referring to the launch of the platform on March 12th:

IMMAGINE —————–

As you can see, the scam website shows a link that invites to invest on the platform itself by February 25th, where it is necessary to enter one’s data and then make a BTC deposit (address of the wallet: 18qBfymUEaqResPzwHGP3crvcrtDVXsWnG) to complete the operation.

IMMAGINE —————–

Clearly, Bakkt has not made any such statement, although they had announced that during the beginning of 2019 they were going to do something but have not yet done so.

The only information known at the moment is that ICE, the New York Stock Exchange, has invested $10 million in Bakkt.
