The former Facebook employee said that this is really an exciting time for the bitcoin world and that this asset class is still behaving very well if you look at the evolution over the years.
In addition, Federman added that he thinks this is just the beginning, and that some of the current projects have potentially unlimited opportunities.
Federman said he was super optimistic and enthusiastic about these opportunities and recalled that people, also on the Internet, said it would never work.
On the subject of decentralisation, Federman explained that we now know that it works and that AirBnB and Uber are also examples of hybrid systems in which there is a centralised and a decentralised component. It’s only a matter of time before this type of solution can reach other sectors as well.
As for the reasons that prompted him to leave Facebook to launch his investment fund dedicated to bitcoin and blockchain, Federman said:
“I think this technology is truly revolutionary, is going to disrupt the financial ecosystem, and is going to have major impact across entire industries in years to come.
Crypto shouldn’t be about getting rich quickly. It should be about creating meaningful products that solve real world needs, and address real pain points.
If I’m right and blockchain is going to be so transformative, it’s obviously going to generate significant returns for investors who invest wisely. The ability for people to transact with no intermediaries involved, and for the transactions to be recorded in an open way and settled almost immediately, the opportunities for building on top of the technology is just mind blowing”.
