Coinbase UK has just published an official statement according to which it will add new assets for English users.
As can be seen in the announcement post, the new assets that will be listed on Coinbase UK are 4: the stablecoin DAI, EOS, Tezos (XTZ) and Chainlink (LINK). These will be added to the other crypto previously listed, namely BAT, 0x (ZRX), Augur (REP), Stellar (XLM) and Ripple (XRP).
As a result, English Coinbase users will now be able to use these new assets from their wallets or buy them on the exchange for pounds.
Coinbase and Brexit
A while ago Coinbase announced that it would continue to have its base in England for the time being, despite the unclear times due to Brexit, and keep its services open to all eurozone users, something that has caused a sigh of relief to all those who use the platform and also to merchants who use the service to accept crypto payments in their business.
In mid-October 2019, the exchange also announced that it had introduced Smart Contract Proxies for its custody service, bridging its cold storage system with on-chain contracts based on the Ethereum blockchain.
Moreover, only last week Coinbase announced the integration of other coins that can be used with the Coinbase Card, a card that allows the use of cryptocurrencies in the wallet to carry out purchases of goods and services, both online and in stores. Furthermore, Coinbase Pro recently also launched its own mobile app.
Worth mentioning is also the fact that the UK launched a task force to outline new parameters for dealing with crypto assets and smart contracts. According to this document, crypto-assets should be treated according to the principle of ownership and smart contracts will be treated as legal contracts.
