It’s clear that a blockchain community can be pushed everywhere to get what it wants going so far as to create something really ridiculous: we speak ironically of the petition directed at the founder of Cardano Charles Hoskinson and his beard.
During the day of Easter, Charles Hoskinson, in an update video for the community about the developments of the Cardano (ADA) blockchain, appeared without beard, completely shaved, opening the video with this radical change, joking about the fact that the beard gave him a look like a man older than his 32 years.
It seems that the community didn’t react well to this novelty and a petition was even created on Change.org to invite him to restore the previous look, which will obviously take some time and can’t be remedied in the short term.
The petition is already collecting signatures, although it currently has only 5, seeing as the initiative is obviously ironic.
Perhaps in the collective scenario, the distinctive image of Hoskinson was associated with his beard.
This event leads to reflect on what is decentralization and disintermediation, where the key figures in a blockchain are the most vulnerable, the weakest link since they are human, which doesn’t affect the Bitcoin blockchain, since the creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, is still a mystery.
