Ethereum 2.0: Arrives the staking for institutional investors

The cryptocurrency custody solutions provider Trustology announced staking on Ethereum 2.0 for institutional investors.

In fact, the new version of Ethereum, called 2.0, in which transactions will be validated through Proof-of-Stake, is expected to be launched by the end of the year

This will allow ETH holders to stake them, but while this operation will be quite simple for small investors, it will have some more complications for large investors, due to an issue related to the custody of the ETHs to be staked.

Many institutional investors in fact prefer to entrust their tokens to special custody services with a high level of security, such as Trustology, so that if they want to stake them in these cases they will have to go through the custody service they are using.

Among all these, Trustology will be one of the first to offer integrated support for ETH 2.0 staking through the app, web or API.

This will be done through the TrustVault wallet, capable of using different levels of security, including biometrics, multi-sig, walled gardens and high-level encryption.

In this way users will not have to deal with the technical management of the tools needed for staking, while reducing the risk of loss of funds, and will be able to access these new services in a simple way, with the Ethereum address of their wallet.

The move to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) will allow investors to earn passive income by participating in transaction validation.

According to a PwCs report, 42% of all crypto hedge funds are already actively involved in staking, while 38% use cryptocurrency loans, for example for margin trading, and 27% loan their own tokens to earn interest.

ETH 2.0 is now probably one of the most interesting staking opportunities in the cryptocurrency world, even for large institutional investors.

Among other things, Binance has recently selected Trustology, along with four other suppliers, to participate in the ConsenSys Codefi staking-as-a-service test.

Trustology founder and CEO Alex Batlin commented:

Our partnership with ConsenSys enables us to fast-track stakers to the frontline to get a jump on earning interest on their passive income.

ETH2.0 brings to the forefront the need for bank-grade secure, but lightning-fast, custody solutions. Thanks to our custom HSM firmware, we are able to lead the market in offering a fast and scalable custodial wallet solution both for investors looking to stake on ETH 2.0 and for validators involved in staking operations”.
