A staggering airdrop made by Reddit for its ERC20 tokens MOON and BRICK has just been completed.
The tokens were sent to users of the crypto and Fortnite communities for their great contribution on the social network.
Although Reddit initially expressed a desire not to make MOON available on the market, these tokens have now been listed and can be sold for fiat currency.
The MOON token from Reddit: use, volume and market cap
It is possible to exchange MOON tokens by swapping them to xDAI and then converting them to DAI to actually cash the relevant token. This procedure can be done on xmoon.exchange.
In the last 24 hours, it has generated a volume of $174,000 and is worth $0.09, so 1 xDAI is worth about 11 MOON.
Reddit and the scalability of the token
It is worth recalling that Reddit is still looking for a system to scale this blockchain-based credit system, even if there are already several solutions proposed, such as the one using LiquidApps, considering that there are millions of Reddit users and this implies a considerable mass adoption.
From the data it can be seen that this airdrop has involved almost 8 thousand addresses and one of the latter has 14 zeros, so converting the figure into dollars is a lot of money (2,4659659e+19 dollars), figures that not even a normal calculator could contain.
Surely these are interesting and even shocking numbers, showing how cryptocurrencies and various tokens can be a truly revolutionary tool without precedent, leading to solving various financial and economic problems.
We are not even talking about decentralized finance (DeFi), but a simple distribution of tokens made to the most active users of the Reddit community, therefore a sort of reward for their activity on the platform.
