Recent research by Invezz.com reveals that the US is the country that performs the most crypto searches on Google.
According to this research, an average of more than 2.5 million crypto searches are conducted on Google each year in the US, with an average of 213,000 per month.
In the second place, but far behind, is India, with 800,000 annual searches, followed by the United Kingdom with 648,000. With the exception of Indonesia (324,000) and Canada (300,000), all other countries are below the 300,000 annual average.
But the most striking statistic of all is the 203% increase over the past year, which shows how the volume of searches is closely linked to price performance.
In fact, the global monthly average of 696,000 searches on Google still seems to be decidedly contained, with ample potential for growth.
These analyses were carried out by the Invezz.com team using the Ahrefs online analysis tool.
They refer in particular to a number of questions that users ask themselves, and for which they seek answers on Google:
- Are cryptocurrencies safe?
- Are cryptocurrencies a good investment?
- Are cryptocurrencies legal?
- Why is the value of cryptocurrencies falling?
- Why are people sceptical about cryptocurrencies?

These questions suggest quite clearly that the analysis takes into account a period that includes bearish periods as well, so not just 2020. Indeed, it is not surprising that there has been a significant increase of 203% in searches over the past year, compared to previous years, at least two of which were certainly not bullish.
Moreover, it does not relate to specific cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, for which it is very likely that the volume of searches on a global level is already well above those found in this research.
Finally, it is worth noting that, although the above figures are very much influenced by the number of inhabitants of the countries surveyed (remembering that Google is hardly used in China), the resounding distance between the US and any other country, including India which has four times as many inhabitants, only underlines how the US crypto market currently dominates this sector unchallenged, perhaps competing only with China.
