You can now feed real sheep with Iota

A fan of the crypto Iota has developed a small program that allows feeding real sheep with Iota.

The system uses Ordroid, a board similar to RPI that activates a granulated feed distributor, very popular with sheep, which can be activated through the donation to the Iota project.

It basically works like the animal feed dispensers of zoos, but in this case, the dispenser is activated by the cryptocurrency and everything is done remotely, following a fixed schedule that makes it possible to feed the sheep only from 8 in the morning to 7 in the evening, every quarter of an hour.

Every time you sign up and give food you leave a nickname that is shown on the linked website.

It’s not a virtual game like CryptoKitties because the sheep are real.

Obviously the sheep are fed enough even if there are no donors, but they receive the normal vegetable feed, while the delicacy of the granular feed is reserved for donations from fans.

If there are several donors, every quarter of an hour they are grouped together in a single donation. In addition, it appears from the website that there is a special prize for the donor of the day and the month.

Until now, this kind of interaction with animals has been limited to the reality of CryptoKitties and other virtual animals. This way we can see how, through cryptocurrencies, an active interaction with the real world is possible: sheep are not programs and they go to eat when they want.
