AS Roma joins the blockchain space. The announcement came this weekend from Chiliz, the platform that tokenised the vote, which formed a partnership with the football team. AS Roma thus joins Socios, a blockchain-based voting platform.
Thanks to this partnership, AS Roma will join other famous football teams such as Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, and create its Fan Token, a digital asset that allows fans the right to vote on certain decisions of the sports club. The greater the interaction through the app, the greater the rewards that fans can earn by accessing exclusive merchandise.
The AS Roma Fan Token will be tradable with the native token of the Socios platform which is CHZ, located at the 1157th position on CoinMarketCap and is traded only on 5 exchanges, including Binance, at a value of just over one-hundredth of a dollar. The Roma token will be priced at 2 euros and will only be available on the Socios platform as of this fall.
The entry of Roma into the blockchain world will give the opportunity to introduce fans to the token and crypto world. In the words of the CRO, Francesco Calvo:
“We are pleased to welcome Socios.com among our partners. AS Roma, as a Club, has a duty to always be very attentive and pro-active towards new technologies and innovation. Thanks to Socios.com’s blockchain platform, we can guarantee new opportunities to our fan base around the world, giving them the possibility to interact in an innovative way with their favorite team”.
The CEO and founder of Socios.com, Alexandre Dreyfus, said he was delighted to add a legendary team like AS Roma:
“I’m delighted to welcome AS Roma to the Socios.com platform. With the addition of another legendary Serie A club, we are fast building a strong ecosystem of top tier clubs, as well as a huge community of football fans, and a unique platform for fans to engage with their club in a new and innovative way. This partnership gives us the opportunity to educate a huge audience of mainstream consumers to the benefits of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, across Europe as well as Asia and Latin America. If you add up all the fan bases of our current partners, we’re already looking at a potential audience of hundreds of millions of sports fans and users for both $CHZ and Socios.com.”
Partnerships between blockchain and the sports world are becoming frequent: besides football, also NBA basketball teams and NFL football teams have signed agreements with companies in the blockchain space. In the racing world, Eidoo is in pole position sponsoring a car of the Mini Challenge for the whole 2019 championship, driven by Federico Alberti.
