A few hours ago, the Canadian website Pornhub announced that it had been blocked for payments from PayPal and CZ, CEO of Binance, the world’s first crypto exchange for business volume, intervened by proposing payments in crypto.
PornHub, in fact, after this block, invited users to select and set up new payment methods on their profiles.
The news seems to have been seized by Changpeng Zhao, who suggested to his community on Twitter the idea of being able to introduce cryptocurrencies on the Pornhub site as a payment method.
Sounds like an opportunity for #crypto? https://t.co/vHG8XrtHU5

“Sounds like an opportunity for crypto?”
TRON’s CEO, Justin Sun, also commented on the matter, pointing out that the platform already accepts TRON TRX but, considering the block by PayPal, it might be worth looking at adding support for Tether based on the TRON blockchain, namely TRC20-USDT.
.@Pornhub accepts $TRX payment. We need to add USDT-TRC20 supports too. #TRON #TRX https://t.co/2cK6jgqP3e

It is not a novelty, in fact, that last year Pornhub already signed agreements for the use of some crypto on its platform, such as TRON, Verge and ZenCash, registering at that time usage rates of 1%.
However, the current situation is quite different. With the block of all payments by the giant PayPal on PornHub, in addition to affecting users, there are also well over one hundred thousand artists who have relied on PayPal for their livelihoods.
In this respect, the platform claims to be in a critical state at the moment, as PayPal was probably one of the most used payment methods on PornHub.
A moment of resilience for PornHub that could find the right answer in crypto payments that, although volatile, remain certain of their permanence.
Not only Binance
After CZ, also Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Bitfinex, intervened to promote the cause of crypto payments, obviously citing also the new Tether Gold, which is the new stablecoin of Bitfinex pegged to the price of gold.
So many better options than SEPA: #bitcoin or #tether
And #tether #gold for extra tip. https://t.co/meDLb34l8t— Paolo Ardoino (@paoloardoino) November 14, 2019
