The Cryptonomist had the opportunity to interview Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Bitfinex and Tether, to talk about the most famous stablecoin in the industry and the future of the exchange.

The topics covered in the interview also included the regulation that the G20 could adapt with regard to stablecoins, seeing that the Financial Stability Board recently stated that these are assets that put traditional finance at risk.

Ample space was also devoted to recent developments of Bitfinex and its new social network called Bitfinex Pulse as well as Ardoino’s recent support for the pTokens project of the British company Provable Things.

Very interesting is also the project to create Tether Euro, a new stablecoin pegged to the euro, although Ardoino explains that the team is experiencing several problems in the development of this project.

Bitfinex has also recently launched Tether Gold on the market, which in a short time has become the first gold-pegged stablecoin in terms of market cap.
