A new luxury flat in Brighton in the UK is now for sale and it is possible to pay in Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH).
According to the statement released today, this is the first time this has happened, at least as far as the south of England is concerned.
The seller of this flat is the real estate agency Brand Vaughan, which has already sold two other houses in the past with cryptocurrencies as a method of payment.
Or even in Rome in 2018 an entire building was put up for sale in Bitcoin.
Tokenization is something that many think could revolutionize the real estate market, so not only can Bitcoin, Ethereum & co be used as a method of payment, but blockchain can really change the industry and facilitate, for example, even property transfers.
Brighton flat paid for in Bitcoin
However, the seller of the Brighton flat seems to have been involved in the crypto sector for many years and has decided to accept Ethereum or Bitcoin as a preferred method of payment, although he also accepts the more traditional British pounds.
The flat is located in Sussex Heights on the 20th floor and has recently been renovated. It has two bedrooms, a bar, a spa and all the latest technology.
David Vaughan, owner of the estate agency, explained:
“Cryptocurrency has been gaining momentum every year. As we start to see more examples of real world adoption of digital currencies, it is a natural progression to see more property sales accepting Bitcoin and we are proud to play an early role in that. We are very excited to be able to give a platform to sellers embracing this digital currency revolution.
