PumaPay announced today that it has formed a partnership with Grooby, a popular adult entertainment website that opened its doors back in 1996.
Already a few months ago the PumaPay payment system and the native PMA crypto was integrated into the industry-leading PornHub platform, which is no stranger to cryptocurrencies as it already features Verge, USDT and others.
Currently, Grooby’s customers can pay via the PumaPay Wallet mobile app only for some of the services offered by the platform, but it will soon be integrated everywhere.
One of the reasons Grooby has chosen to adopt cryptocurrency is anonymity, but not only that, as founder and CEO Steven Grooby explained:
“We appreciate that many members want anonymity or are accessing from countries otherwise unable to bill, and I think we have a duty to give this as an option to them. PumaPay fits into our overall billing strategies of making it easy for potential members to access the sites, from multiple payment methods.”
The CEO of PumaPay Yoav Dror said instead:
“We are excited to announce this latest integration with Grooby Productions, as we further consolidate ourselves as the payment solution of choice for the adult industry. Our mission is to solve the common merchant pains, such as high transaction fees, limited billing flexibility and slow settlement times, and combine the solution to create an easy-to-use, comprehensive platform.”
The crypto in the world of porn
As mentioned several times, the link between the world of porn and the crypto world is getting stronger and stronger, considering that even a world-famous website like PornHub has had to opt for such payment methods after its PayPal account has been closed, probably because of the sector in which it operates.
On the other hand, even crypto companies are struggling to find banks that open accounts through which cryptocurrencies are exchanged.
In any case, after the adoption of Verge and other stablecoins by PornHub, there have been several projects like PumaPay or PornVisory that want to act as a bridge between the two worlds of porn and crypto.
