Following Chiliz ($CHZ), Socios launches a new token, but this time not tradable: it’s the United Fan Token ($SSU), which will be used by users to vote, participate in quizzes, games and be rewarded while using the app for certain tasks.
Starting today, each Socios user will receive 1 SSU token directly into the app’s wallet. This also applies to those who decide to download the app for the first time. During the launch of this new fan token, fans will be able to vote to create a sort of dream team with the best players.
The more fan tokens a user has, the greater their power as a fan, allowing them to receive more rewards and vote multiple times. In order to collect them, it’s also possible to use the Token Hunt feature found in the app that uses augmented reality (AR) to show tokens that in real life, without the use of Socios, wouldn’t be possible to find.
This initiative comes as a further effort by the blockchain industry to combat the spread of Coronavirus and encourage people to stay at home using AR this time.
For this reason, Socios created the hashtag #homewithsocios, currently used 1 million times, according to the press release distributed today by the company.
Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO and Founder of Chiliz and Socios.com said:
“Socios United allows us to freely engage with all Socios.com users, running polls and building interaction on the app through games, quizzes and other ‘just for fun’ features – such as the first poll to choose a ‘Dream Team’ from our roster of clubs. But, this is just the opening utility of Socios United. We’ve got exciting plans for $SSU, which we believe can be the driving force behind some unprecedented fan-led initiatives in the future. Every single user is entitled to a free $SSU, allowing them to play a part in the development of our platform and our community, while fans can earn more by regularly engaging with the app’s features. Fans can also collect some additional $SSU for free via Home Hunt and support our efforts to help fight the spread of COVID-19 by staying #homewithsocios. Stay safe and happy hunting!”
