Vitalik Buterin vs Justin Sun: the clash

Twitter has seen a fight to the death between Justin Sun of TRON and Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum.

It all started when Juan Benet, better known for having created the IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) protocol that allows storing information in a decentralized way, accused Justin Sun, CEO of the TRON Foundation, of shamelessly copying his project passing it off as new.

As everyone knows, the IPFS protocol is open source and therefore anyone can fork and improve it to make it accessible without limits and without any cost: just download the files and start the program to access and use the protocol.

The BitTorrent File System (BTFS) protocol was launched in test phase last summer and allows to have a decentralized peer-to-peer storage system; in October last year, the mainnet was launched with thousands of nodes already active.

In addition to the accusation of copying the project, the logo is also very similar to the one used by IPFS, i.e. a hexagon that recalls a cube in perspective. Hence Benet complains about Justin Sun’s acquisition of BitTorrent.

It was not long before Sun, who was called upon to defend his project, replied to the charges.

As if that wasn’t enough, Vitalik Buterin also joined the conversation by calling Sun a dictator, referring also to the issue that occurred with the Steem case.

Certainly, all his recent mishaps are not working in his favour, including the one involving the stablecoin, whose name has been changed to JUST.
