John McAfee has claimed that he no longer has any cryptocurrencies.
The US believes I have hidden crypto. I wish I did but it has dissolved through the many hands of Team McAfee (your belief is not required), and my remaining assets are all seized. My friends evaporated through fear of association.
I have nothing.
Yet, I regret nothing.

The famous crypto influencer is still in jail, and his assets are seized.
However, according to McAfee‘s own statement, US law enforcement officials believe he is still in possession of cryptocurrencies hidden somewhere.
In fact, McAfee could theoretically have sent cryptocurrencies to addresses that only he knew about, and whose private keys could be hidden in places known only to him. For this reason, it is plausible that law enforcement agencies are looking for these private keys, or their seeds.
McAfee also claims that any of his cryptocurrencies that have not yet been seized have “dissolved” over time, particularly in the many hands of Team McAfee, so he would have none left at this time.
He then adds:
“My friends evaporated through fear of association.
I have nothing.
Yet, I regret nothing”.
This commentary objectively sounds like the lament of a man who is sad but not sorry for what he has done.
John McAfee, crypto and prison
His situation is certainly far from happy, and unfortunately it is not surprising that his former collaborators have decided to abandon him. In fact, the risk that they may be involved in the investigation, and especially in the charges, is real, so they may have decided to defect to avoid making their situation worse.
In fact, the situation for McAfee is apparently not looking good at all.
He was arrested several months ago, and has been in jail ever since.
The fact is that in January two years ago he fled the US to escape IRS tax evasion charges, and remained a fugitive for more than a year and a half. So the risk that he might flee again, should he be released from prison, is significant, and this does not currently work in his favour.
However, it is worth noting that the timeframe for a judicial response is particularly long, which adds another problem to his situation.
